This is an opportunity to join a growing team of skilled, experienced brewing professionals, as such we are seeking experienced Managers for this role. As a “Production Manager,” you will oversee day to day operations of our brewing and cellar team. This position plays a fundamental role in total beer quality and is a key contributor to successful production department outcomes.

Ideal candidates will have a passion for craft beer and attention to detail as well as significant brewing experience.

Primary Skills (Required)

  • Personnel Management Experience
  • Three to seven years of experience in a beer manufacturing environment is required
  • Mechanical Aptitude (basic understanding of brewing systems, pumps, centrifuges, filtration, packaging equipment etc.)

Responsibilities

  • Direct management of Brewing and Cellar team personnel: Including hiring, training, developing, discipline and termination
  • Daily Allocation of Brewing and Cellar Staff
  • Manage and maintain the scheduling of brews and tanks
  • Scheduling breaks and lunches
  • Setting employee performance expectations
    • Demonstrate the highest level of integrity in how you interact with your coworkers, your direct reports, and the quality of our beer
    • Assist in developing written performance plans for all members of the department documenting past performance and targeted future development
  • Enforcing employee performance expectations
    • Identify and commend exemplary behavior in all members of the department, encouraging them to do the same
    • Where necessary, identify inappropriate behavior in department member and present corrective action
  • Train Brewer and Cellar Technician  Roles:
    • Proper Implementation of SOPS and best practices
    • Startup, operation and shutdown of the Brewhouse
    • Startup, operation and shutdown of all cellar operations
    • Proper use and care for QA/QC equipment   
    • Proper use of Chemical Dispensing stations and sanitation equipment
  • Ensure operations are in compliance with SOPs
  • Maintain Safe Working Conditions
  • Maintain and develop SOPs, adapting as new equipment and best practices are implemented
  • Regularly audit SOPs and packaging staff for compliance 
  • Production Material Management
    • Coordinate Supply needs with Director of Brewing Operations and Chief Production Officer
  • Netsuite
    • Weekly inventory reconciliation
    • Oversee the Issue of components and the entering of completions for production PROs
    • Training Staff on the use of Netsuite
    • Troubleshoot errors
  • Coordinate with the Director of Brewing Operations and Chief Production Officer during any Materials, Labels, or Crafted disruptions. 
  • Brewery Technician and Cellar Technician Duties and Responsibilities 
  • Brewing /Cellar Operations
    • Wort Production
    • Yeast Management
    • Centrifuge Operations
    • CIPs of all brewery equipment
    • Temperature and pressure management of tanks
    • General facility sanitation and maintenance
  • Quality Assurance
    • Thorough understanding of GMP and the Quality Manual
    • Maintenance and use of chemical titration kits and pH strips
    • Follow the policies outlined in the Quality Manual, GMP policy, MSS, and Hazard Communication Plan
    • Implementation and training on new quality initiatives
  • Quality Control
    • Ability to perform and record final specs before packaging
    • Carbonation and O2 readings on BBTs/FVs
    • Sensory evaluation of finished product
  • Ensure Production Hall Cleanliness
  • Production Equipment Maintenance
    • Inventory and maintain critical spare stock
    • Working alongside Maintenance to schedule regular PM’s
    • Perform routine maintenance and troubleshoot mechanical issues as they arise
  • Warehouse Support
    • Retrieving and storing Production materials
  • Ability to work within a budget and calculate ROI for CAPEX projects
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
  • Maintain and promote a positive work environment with a focus on customer service based problem solving
  • Cultivate and maintain positive relationships with co workers
  • Work to continuously improve quality at Fort Point HenHouse

Shifts

  • 5x8 hour shifts - Saturday-Wednesday (mid shift)
  • Ability to work mornings, evenings and weekends
